THE DINNER

The evening begins at 6pm with a champagne reception in the stunning River Room, overlooking the Embankment Gardens and the River Thames. At 7.15pm guests move to the magnificent Lancaster Room, the largest of The Savoy’s banqueting suites. Here, they are warmly welcomed by our Chair and introduced to our Charity of the Year. Guests will hear first-hand about the charity’s inspiring mission and the transformational project the event is supporting.

As part of the evening’s entertainment, attendees are able to bet on The October Club Handicap Stakes, choosing between horses & jockeys sponsored and named by some generous guests. Once all bets are placed, the race begins! Our race commentator announces the results and charity helpers deliver winnings directly to the tables. All proceeds from the race and betting go towards the evening’s fundraising total.

THE AUCTION

Throughout the night, guests can also bid on a wide array of auction items, all generously donated to us. After dinner, excitement builds as our wonderful auctioneer and committee member, Gareth Henderson, takes the stage to lead the live auction, featuring the most coveted lots of the evening.

ASCOT RACE DAY

A very relaxed, informal day, this is a warm-up for the main event in October, providing an enjoyable day out where members of the charity of the year, the committee and guests can get to know each other. The charity is encouraged to invite its key supporters and trustees along. Guests arrive for a champagne reception at 12 noon, followed by a sit-down three-course lunch and an opportunity to go and watch the afternoon’s races. Afternoon tea is served, and we have our own Tote in the room. Not wanting to miss an opportunity to raise funds for our charity, we hold a raffle and a short auction.
